Basic Personality: Denzel, though young, tends to view himself as a developing adult, despite his obvious youth and therefore lack of experiences. He's a responsible individual that is taken to impression quite easily, and may come to idolize certain individuals, depending on their influence upon him. He isn't one easy to gain the trust of, provided from his guarded persona, but once won, it is very hard to lose.

He tends to take things to heart rather easily, and may be considered timid when facing a new experience. He doesn't stick his neck out into conflict, even if necessary, but has a strong dislike for injustice and wrong-doing. If given the opportunity, he tends to feel as though he must be protective, and will stand up for other individuals, but not so much himself.

In general, however, when in concerns for those he truly cares for, he may find himself easily wounded by their remarks, likely to a degree that would incline concern. Once friended, he is very, if not horrendously, loyal to their person. Unfortunately, he has no friends to speak of.

Background: Denzel arrived in Central Neisenma some two months before, exceedingly lost and confused in the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. Nearly panicked, he had taken shelter in a nearby alley, trying to collect himself and what was happening; obviously confused to an extreme degree, he soon came to realize that though this was a foreign environment, he was expected to find shelter, food, and a meager way to survive.

Such is the life of an orphan it seems.

Unfortunately, within a week of his arrival, Denzel found himself struggling to keep pace with the city. And one particular evening, he found himself cornered by a pair of thugs, both of which seemed hopeful in other means of his presence. Battered, beaten and sore in pride and person, the boy was rescued by an elderly male who was passing through and had noticed the trouble occurring in the darkness. Pitying the child, he took him into his home in Midgar's slums, having a strange fascination to the boy and his clear, honest eyes.

As luck would have it, however, while out at the market, the man received a counter-attack in response to the help he had provided the boy, and when the youth returned home, he found the house empty. And smeared with blood. Obviously troubled, he took to the streets, concerned for his make-shift guardian, and now his safety. Hence he wanders the streets, attempting to make a living in one fashion or another, may it be odd jobs or stealing... Though he isn't much a fan of the latter.
